A decent question,....anything I say is speculation,....but it might have something to do with relations with Microsoft.

Still no comments from AMD relative to Linux specifically.

That was one thought I had as well, but how much would MS have had to pay AMD to forego a juicy part of the market?

Corollary: Would that even make sense for MS?
