She DID! LOL! But I couldn't get the two most important lights on the modem to come on, and that's when I called the cable company.
When the guy was here yesterday, he told me his first thought was that Cox had somehow perceived my PC as a "pirate," but when I told him the sequence of events, he said, "Let me check that out."
In 110 degree heat, he spent an hour outside, troubleshooting for Moi.
When he came back in, he asked a few questions and I told him: Epic Fail Lawn Service, Henderson Branch, was here Friday afternoon, and when they got to the sidewalk by my neighbor, my interwebs died. The message on the screen said simply that I had no signal.
That's when he said that the line had been cut and that it could be as late as Tuesday before it could be replaced. They came about two hours ago, said they were going to fix it, and took their little pick and whatever other tool they used and the rest is history! YAY!!!
