And that is why Mormonism is not, in any meaningful sense, Christianity. it fails on first principles.
If you believe that there is one, and only one, God, then you might be Christian.
If you believe that the number of gods that exist is greater than one, you are most definitely not Christian.
Frauduently slapping the name "Jesus Christ" on the label doesn't magically transform your religion into something that resembles what Jesus Christ and his apostles actually taught.
All unprovable.
After dealing in the wedding business for many years, I found that the pastors, reverends, or whatever you want to call the leaders, are sharks when the finances are addressed. They’re in it for the money and the attention. The more they convince their followers that they are the true religion, the more power and money they get.
So, they instruct their followers to criticize any other religion; the followers protect their philosophy by attacking other philosophies. This is Christianity? Yes, along with wonderful preachers like Robert Tilton, Al Sharpton, the Bakers and so on.
Read through all the anti-”this or that religion” rants; they are filled with conceit and judgements. That, apparently, is what today’s Christianity is about. I mean, what could be cooler than believing you speak for God?
Perhaps you “authorities” should understand the concept of metaphysics. You can prove you have differences, but you cannot prove you’re correct or the others wrong.
I’ll paraphrase an old philosopher here: “ I abhor those who claim to have a special connection with the almighty and will grant absolution for a consideration. “ These religious rants are about ego and money. Money for the leaders, ego for their followers.
