True. It is a GOP district. But it was represented by a female moderate.

Hoekstra is not very popular in Michigan. Better than Stabenow but still the elitist choice. Some that voted for Romney could not pull the trigger for Pete.

Believe it or not I know people who fear he’ll become more moderate when he gets to D.C. They voted for Enyart. I don’t know Smith but he seems to be a good, conservative man. At least we now have a representative to write or call!

So even though it’s a safe GOP seat, it’s still a win against the GOPe.

Excellent Smithers.

Can’t possibly be true. I was told by all the media that the Republican Party is dead.

Romney won 66-32
Yeah bigtime conservative

Sorry but Romney and conservative cannot be in the same definition of conservative district. It seems to me that 66 percent of the county is full of RINOs to vote for that liberal jerk.

I never donate directly to the GOP. I donate directly to the candidate.
I tear up the mailings as soon as I get them.

We got a two-fer tonight.
Kept the district, but replaced the moderate. Yahoo!

Withhold all donations to Republicans until they put the pressure on the Republicans to remove Bonehead as speaker.

I’m going to pass on this bit of “wisdom”. I’ve stopped contributing to the RNC and other GOPe organizations and have focused on giving DIRECTLY to the campaigns of credible conservative candidates. When we get a critical mass of tea party types in Congress then worries about Boehner will be in the pass.

Let’s not be stupid.

I’ll second your yahoo. It’s been a great day; excepting the self-centered RINO Christie antics in New Jersey.

What kind of leader pulls that kind of stunt? Christie is no leader.

Sorry for the broad statement. I agree, if someone sees a great candidate by all means support him or her. I am referring to these Republican groups that call or write and their collections are given mainly to the elitist Republicans and the true Conservatives are left out.

Thanks for letting me clarify this. You were right.

You’re absolutely right. The RNC never seems to give up on their solicitations giving anything to the RNC means supporting RINOs and the GOPe in their intramural war on conservative tea party candidates.

I’ve placed Rubio firmly in the RINO camp now and won’t give him a dime. He’s sending out a stream of solicitations. I think I’m going to start returning his postage paid return envelops with blank sheets of paper only. That will cost him only a few dimes but, hopefully, other committed conservatives who have been betrayed by him will take similar actions.

I send them back with a little sarcastic note and then thank them for letting me use their franking priviledge.

If you don’t think two to one margin voting Republican in a congressional district doesn’t make it conservative, you know very little about politics.

Emerson was a semi-RINO: supported stem cell; opposed Iraq war. The significance is turnout. The Dems sent almost 17K voters to the polls and that’s not bad for a special election. The GOP sent 41K to the polls for a special election. That’s significant. The DNC and Sgt. Daffy Wasserman Shultz are worried this AM. Don’t think they aren’t watching the MO numbers. They probably thought they could win the seat.

Yes.....and, Jason Smith is a true/blue conservative!!! The stunning win and turnout for Smith, coupled with a dismal turnout for the Democrat candidate bodes not very well for the Democrat Party headed into mid-term elections in 2014. Fact is: Obama is now a ful blown, ineffective “Lame Duck” POTUS and radioactive, damaged goods. If the Democrat Party does not remove him from office they will get slaughtered politically in 2014.

Not when these so called conservatives voted for Romney. They all sold out and have ZERO principles.
