Massatwoshitts announced that they did an audit of the welfare system and determined just over $2 Million was spent on fraudulent accounts for the EBT cards. Really? $2 Million?

Now perhaps this will seem a bit philippic, but in the same breath they also noted there was some $15 Million that was spent on very questionable purposes that should have been investigated, but weren't. There were a fair number of anecdotes of the EBT cards being used in Vegas, Disney, Florida, and Bahamas. EBT cards routinely purchased lobsters, prime rib, duck, imported foods. We won't even mention that it's likely they were also used to purchase a couple pressure cookers.

And perhaps it's the cynic in me, but the vote on overhauling the EBT system (verify SS numbers, photos on the cards) was just last week. I've got to wonder if it's a coincidence that the release of the report was after the vote just by happenstance.
