Word For The Day, May 28, 2013
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
isolato [ahy-suh-ley-toh]
-n, pl. isolatoes
a person who is spiritually isolated from or out of sympathy with his or her times or society.
[185055; < Italian < Latin insulātus. See insulate
]
After reading that, I don’t want to see the new episodes.
IOW, I choose to be an isolato about AD and watch the old DVDs instead.
Nothing you wait for that long ever lives up to its massive expectations. I’ll enjoy the episodes, but probably find it’s hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice.
But we wear the same colors even!
For sure.
It may rain again here tomorrow-just a little flooding here, but a real danger in SA-what a difference 30 miles in a northerly direction makes...
My 4X4 driving self really can’t comment on the car, but I’m glad it meets your needs-I’m totally out of touch with a world that doesn’t drive older utility vehicles/trucks to work and all else...
Let me add that I do like the 4WD-but is it a truck, or a car?
It is what they call a “crossover” or a “compact SUV.”
SUV-like looks, spaciousness and height on a car frame.
Same class as a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV 4 or Ford Escape.
Not as big as a Kia Sorento or Jeep Grand Cherokee or Ford Explorer or Toyota Highlander.
Okay-that is well-explained. My vehicle is an old Toyota 4 Runner, and is called a truck by just everyone.
I’m sure your 4 Runner was built on a truck frame. Not many SUVs are anymore.
And you haven't even seen this yet
I loved some of the women’s hairdos in HBO’s “Rome”, but when my daughter and I tried to do them, we just couldn’t get most of the styles to work-especially the ones all tied up with decorative ribbon/cloth-I guess those must have been hairpieces or sewn together...
I’ve kept my hair long for 20 years-I can wear different updo’s in summer, and leave it down in winter but I wear it in a bun at work year round so it doesn’t get caught in some tool and scalp me-I usually wear a baseball cap, too...
It was, indeed, so that it would tow well-haven’t towed anything with it yet, and that is fine-I’m not good at towing at all...
Why, why won’t that man just go away? Does he think he is Bill Clinton?
He does have a habit of popping back up.
That is one of the worst double entendres ever, but I still laughed...
:)
The jokes write themselves.
Sure do-I’ll bet that somewhere in England, there is a bookmaker offering odds on how soon a brand new self-portrait of Weiner’s, um-junk-shows up on some website...
What’s new at Rancho de Pollo?
