When I was a kid the family ate at Whataburger once a month. Dad would order four Sissy Burgers, cut in half (each kid and Mother got half a burger, Dad ate 1-1/2), and a gallon jug of root beer all for under a dollar.
Was that the Whataburger in C.C.? I only went there as a child with parents, probably during the early and mid ‘60s (lived a little closer to the Island). Now, I’m on a place, where we saw 39 below zero one night this last winter. Funny, what growing up in southeast Tex. and later doing infantry-related Army stuff in southern climates can do to some of us (chase us to the high, dry cold).
