RHPS has become something of “performance art,” where the audience actually participates along with the movie.
***Similar to MST3000, where they mock the ridiculous movie mercilessly.
actually participates along with the movie.
They do show up in costumes, often standing right in front of the screen, performing the lines of the character whose costume they’re wearing.
***mocking the movie.
The rice and toast you refer to is not akin to the old “throwing tomatoes at bad performances,”
***Exactly. If you throw tomatoes, you get thrown out of the theatre.
but again, to allow the audience to participate in the performance.
***Like, throwing tomatoes.
They’re thrown only during certain scenes: For instance, the rice is thrown as the newly married couple exit the church. The toast is sillier: Slices of toast are thrown when a toast is announced.
***So if you throw a piece of toast at the wrong time, do you get thrown out? I’ve seen fights break out at these movies because people shoot bucketfulls of water at the audience. That’s all because it’s a good movie? And are you going to keep avoiding the questions of debauchery, homosexualism, and cannabilism?
And don’t forget the waterguns... Used during the rain scene.
***I’ve seen fights break out at these movies because people shoot bucketfulls of water at the audience. That’s all because it’s a good movie? Again I say: It is Officially the Worst Movie Ever Made.
Source please, or stfu.
I guess you just never "got" MST3000. The movie was just there for Joel and the Robots. In a similar way, you just don't "get" RHPS. That's OK. It doesn't make you a loser or anything. Just accept that you don't get it, like it, or approve of anyone who does get it or like it. I bet you don't much care for people who don't care for or get Star Wars either.
It is Officially the Worst Movie Ever Made.
Cite the "official" source.
I've seen a number of lists of "official" bad movies, and Rocky Horror never made one of those lists. BTW, the two "official" worst movies ever made that I recall from those lists were "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space."
Star Wars which you seem to idolize, really isn't a very good movie. BTW, did you realize that in the story arc, Darth Vader was conceived without a father? Sound familiar?
