My kitty would always share anything accidentally left out on the counter with his JRT buddy.

That was beautifully said.

If I had it to do over again, I would love to pursue a degree in zoology and work with big cats in some capacity. I’ve always loved them. It’s unquestionably a dangerous job, but there are things a person can do to minimize the dangers—as much as possible, anyway. Like you, the lion is my favorite.

The closest I’ve ever come is petting a lion cub at a nearby zoo. The little fella responded by pushing his head up against my neck and snuggling, and I melted, LOL.

This is a remarkable photo of the lion with his "pride" of dachsunds:

Remember when your kitty used to do this for the Scotties?

I would love to do that too. That is work I would do for free, or I might even pay to do it.

A lot of time I find myself angry at this or that. I’m not particularly happy with the direction humanity has taken in a number of ways, but I always find love and peace with animals.

I have always loved animals, ever since I met my very first one, my mom’s 7 year old German Shepherd named Fortune.

Now, at 42, I have just gotten done hand feeding my own 14 year old German Shepherd named Grainger. He’s epileptic now, just got him back from surgery today. He may not have a whole lot of time left, so every single day with him is a blessing.

In this world, it is in the animal kingdom where I see God and the magnificence of His creation. I really mean that. I am not the most religious person on this earth, but when I look at the animal kingdom, I see His art there. I see things that are so amazing that I get goose bumps and tears in my eyes looking.

I want to use the humanity I have to help animals. I’m not even sure that they need or want my help, but to me it seems like a very noble cause.

I am an animal lover, and I am so glad the Lord put them here for me to love, otherwise this place would feel much emptier to me.

And to think I was just arguing a thread the other week how these stupid sports pose unreasonable risk.

Wow to your post- are you me? LOL

If I’m at a party and there’s a lonely looking animal off in a corner there- that’s where I’ll be. With my new friend.

Yes, I think I may be you.

This is exactly where I would be too.

Yep...I’m that way at parties too. LOL.

Especially if the party is a pack of liberals.

The love of animals is always unconditional.

God bless your Grainger. I hope he’ll have as much time with you as possible. My sister-in-law had a huge male, trained for protection, but he was such a sweet baby with family. When she and her husband divorced, he got the dog and moved out of town....I miss that pup to this day.

I agree so much with what you’ve posted. And you’re exactly right about animals being a magnificent example of God’s creation. The Bible says He created each one of them, looked at them, and declared them good. And there are numerous examples of His love for His animals within that book. Only a magnificent God could make such a multitude of diverse creatures, each with its own beauty and its own abilities & gifts to help it survive.
