With scandal swirling about the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama may be considering an extended exit from Washington this summer, fleeing for weeks to the Obamas’ traditional summer haven, Martha’s Vineyard.
According to the Boston Globe, “Michelle Obama and the children may be on the island for an extended period.” But the president would hardly be suffering by comparison. He may come up on weekends and then stay for two weeks at the end of the summer, the Globe reports.
It appears Michelle may be skipping her usual spring excursion overseas, which in the past has included stops at a luxury resort in Spain and in South Africa. Instead, she’ll accompany her husband next month on an official trip to Africa.
But not to worry. She already spent two weeks in Hawaii this past winter and jetted out for some Apsen skiing in February.

Annually, Ohaha vacations cost $20 million (the low estimate for Ohaha's Hawaii vacay was $4 million, but the true cost is probably five times that); the first family’s yearly health-care costs are $7 million; more than $6 million is spent on the White House grounds each year. Transportation costs were a staggering $346 million last year.

The oil-rich Ivory Coast has one of the worst human rights records in Africa whose rulers are accused of funneling millions of public monies into their own pockets. But now it looks like the son of the dictator---- Teodoro---whose world— comprised yachts, Bugattis, and Michael Jackson memorabilia—could come crashing down, according to Foreign Policy (via Curbed).
Foreign Policy's Ken Silverstein reported that after a four-year investigation into alleged extortion and laundering of $100 million in the US and "theft of public funds, or other corrupt conduct" back at home, the Justice Department has filed notice of a lawsuit involving the possible seizure of Tedoro's California mansion, and other assets.
And French investigators just seized millions of dollars' worth of his sports cars, while the Spanish government is investigating the entire Obiang clan. Teodoro reportedly hasn't spent much time stateside recently, in part thanks to various legal actions against him.
Just a peek inside the insane world of Teodoro---he first came to the U.S. to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu. While tuition cost just $3,400, he managed to blow through $50,000 in the first five months before dropping out. Source: Business insier--LA Weekly.
Teodoro is listed as the owner of this $35 million mansion on the Malibu coast, which he paid for in cash. It was the most expensive home sold in California in 2006, and has a tennis court, swimming pool and 4-hole golf course.
Teodoro's on the government payroll as "minister of agriculture and forestry," and supposedly makes just $5,000 per month. But his Malibu home contains $60,000 worth of rugs, a $58,000 home theater and a $1,734 pair of wine glasses.

A classy move would be to have a stay-at-home vacation and work on that garden of hers with her girls.
But...but...the people of America will starve.

I intensely dislike Michelle Obama, but I truly can’t blame her for wanting to get herself and her children away from what is no doubt a ghastly situation in the White House. With Obama strung out on whatever hideous cocktail of prescription and illegal drugs he is taking, his relationship with Reggie Love and any other boytoy he might be entertaining, Jarrett’s rants, the unholy rage and obscenity among staffers, and the sense of tightening screws, it’s better to have young girls out of that swamp.
Since when is Martha’s Vineyard traditional for these Chicago mobsters? Since the Kennedys invited them as heir-apparents?

Does anyone remember NJ Gov. McGreevy’s coming out of the closet in the midst of his scandal— fishing for bribes, extortion and the like? Claiming closeted homosexuality is the new last refuge of a scoundrel. ‘bam may be preparing to play that card.
Why not Chicago? They have that large million dollar plus home close by the lake ... you know the one Frank Rezko, the Chicago real estate/developer mogul, purchased for them back when O was a senator.

Oh, I think she's pretty bad. But she may find the role of beard more difficult than she anticipated. And no one says she is a bad or inattentive mother. Divorce is not an option for her at this point--not if she wants to go on living. Hence the constant efforts to escape on prolonged vacations.
