Have heard from several vets that flea collars can cause tumors.

Thinking of the old plastic ones that had the chemical embedded in them. May be a newer version now that does not cause problems.

We just do not let our cats roam, or get off the patio when they come out with us.

Rubbing diatomeacous earth into their fur gets rid of fleas. Have to keep doing it for a while. Kills the adult fleas and after a while, no more fleas. Harmless unless breathed in. ANd if they eat it, it kills intestinal worms. About 1 teaspoon once or twice a day kills the worms.
