Three day delivery took five days. The P.O. here is pretty good ... lots of folks mail-order chicks and in the past they have called me to pick up a shipment before their normal opening time.
On McMurray’s behalf ... they replaced the entire shipment of fifty even ‘tho more than half had survived the original shipment. I prefer to buy locally but no one locally has white leghorns.
Ohh. Sad little chicks! I brought mine mail order last spring - they arrived the morning AFTER I ordered them. I hadn’t expected them until the following day, so didn’t have the brooder blub on or anything. Lucked out with mine.
I was so nervous when I picked them up...my first mail order chicks! I wish I had more of the leghorns turn out to be hens - excellent layer. Our only white leghorn is smallish, but lays a BIG white egg every day. Our Sussex are not very dependable, and lay small light brown eggs. When and if they feel like it. They are very broody though.
