Search twitter #fulop. "Loss" for Obama
Do you mean the Jersey City Democrats finally woke up ?
Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy just called the election for challenger Steven Fulop. “If there is anything I can do to help him out after the transition, I stand ready, willing, and able to do it,” Healy said. It drew cheers from a tearful crowd at his Oakland Avenue headquarters. The crowd chanted back “We love you, mayor.” “Thank you all and God bless you all, by the way, I am still going to Casino in the Park,” the mayor said. When he called the race the screen in the front of the room said, “Fulop 52.1 percent of the vote (14,675 votes), while Healy tallied 38.6 percent (10,860 votes.)

This is catastrophic for the Obummer legacy
and the start of the downfall
of the “Emporer with No Clothes” (empty suit )
Hah. The low info voters saw two candidates named “Jeremiah” and “Jerramiah”, and couldn’t remember which one 0bambi endorsed (the latter). But Fulop would have won anyway.
Thank Heaven its “fulop” and not “fulof”. We got too many politicians already with “unfortunate” all-too-candid names (Wee 1illy Wiener of NY, Congressman Boner, bHorney Frank, nancy Peelousy, etc.). Good luck to fulop.
Didn't everyone hear Obama endorsed Healy?
For several years Fulop has sent birthday postcards to all voters in JC. New GOP strategy? :)
Sounds similar to the latest Presidential general election. That caused quite a stir around here. Anybody but Obama Vs. Nobody worth voting for.
I'm in the Anything against Obama crowd for now. :o)
Is Healy the guy that was whining about a trio of Hispanic girls that set him up?
yes. But he was drunk & wearing a towel.
That seems to be backward. It's more like a suit of clothes with no emperor.
I prefer to call it:
“ A trojan Hearse”
Death is inevitable
No one gets out of this life alive ...
I, Too, know nothing about fulop. The name just sounds amusing (or nearly so). He could be a great guy for all I know. Let’s hope so.

Seems to me it would be an interesting and creative way to verify voter roles by checking returned cards against those listed as eligible to vote.

Oh come on. It is only 3,800 votes. There has to be that many votes in the trunk of a car somewhere.
Healy’s campaign was essentially to brag that 0bama endorsed him and that he had a gun buyback program that reduced crime. Good riddance.
The name is Hungarian in origin. It is usually spelled with two dots (umlauts) over the u and o.
Oh! Okay! Hungarian. that’s 1000 percent better than Kenyan these days. Thanks!
To put it another way, the Democrat who endorsed Obama in 2008 (Healy) lost to the Democrat who endorsed Hillary in 2008 (Fulop).
This is a county where Obama beat Romney by better than three to one. The nonpartisan election was always quite likely to produce a mayor who came out of one wing or another of the Democratic Party.
