He has won. I will prove it.
I have given money - lots of money- to my favorite congressman's campaign.
Not anymore.
Not going to in the future.
An audit generated purely for legitimate donations to a congressman?
Yes.
That would be totally out of the realm.
It’s out of breaking.
I’m not a big fan of treating people differently because of when they signed up. There are some bright, articulate people who’ve been here only a short time and there were plenty of morons in the class of ‘98.
That being said, when your sign up date is this year and you act like a crotchety old timer on posting police patrol people will automatically assume you are a retread and wonder why you got banned before and how soon you will get banned again.
Don’t spend too much time worrying about a vanity staying in Breaking News. Just the other day I posted a legitimate front page news article and it was thrown completely out of every topic category. Sidebar Moderator likes a tidy house.
The IRS can hold you up on next to nothing, cause you to pay money to your accountants and lawyer, cause you to cough up money for very little reason, pay penalties and interest, and generally make you sweat for no good reason.
With them it's power, you are guilty unless you can PROVE your innocence, the reverse of the normal court of law.
Jon, look at your post, then look at the last Scripture verse on your home page.
You call your Congressman this morning and ream him out about this IRS scandal, tell him you want action, or he can be unemployed in January,2015.
Get your money’s worth.
Ditto that.
“Te IRS has been turned into a political weapon.”
It’s been used as a political weapon for many, many years, to differing degrees.
onyx is an ONG. We don’t pick on Made Freepers.
They consigliares who use brick batz in the middle of the night .
Don't let him win, stand up, continue to donate, and continue working against what he and the dems are doing.
NOOb.....
:-)
I think you’re extremely naive about the IRS. And nothing happens in a vacuum. Most people who give to Republican candidates or other conservative causes limit their activities to that act purely. Wake up dude.
That would be dudette.......
You are going to let this guy control your every day life decisions? Seriously? This guy controls you? You should do what you think is best, of course.
But my philosophy is, if the IRS or 'Popo' wants to waste their time getting all up in my boring life they are welcome to it. Fly a drone by my second story widows and you may just get a real good look at me... folding towels. Enjoy!
...yes, you right....the perils of posting before the second cup of coffee is fully ingested....
oh, and another peril....I left out a word. What I meant to say is that most people who donate to a congressional candidate do NOT limit their conservative activities to that act specifically.
Agreed. Seriously. No one is going to lift a finger to oppose Obama or the leftist Democrats. They’ve won.
Have you ever been audited?
I contributed, for the first time ever, to a congressional campaign in 2010 and received an audit notice for the years 2008 and 2009 shortly thereafter. I had never been audited in 34 years of filing returns. It cost me $3800 for the accountants for 12 hours and two days away from my business plus countless hours getting records together. NO new tax. So even if you have nothing to hide it will cost you money and time.
“Original New Guy”.
12 times.
I’m naive?
I’ve been audited 12 times.
