Agreed. It's interesting that they were willing to lose money to promote gay marriage but not too much money. But there was, in this, something a little darker - it wasn't really gay marriage they were trying to normalize, it was gay adoption. That's the new holy grail.

This is not a new normal for NBC.
All their comedies that try to redefine American culture ending up failing.
When I was very young my best friend's data became "confused". Suddenly there were parties with a bunch of gay guys just about every week. At age 16 I met a bunch of queer folk.
Because of my age and looks at the time these guys hit on me like crazy. That didn't bother me much because I had zero desire to have anything to do with them. Even still a couple of times when they got good and drunk I had to get physical with one of them.
Oh boy did they get drunk and that was when I would mess with them. I'd wait until they were all sloshed and I'd ask this: "OK, you put your thing in his backside then you take it out and put it in his mouth. So, basically, you all like to eat $hit".
They would go insane after this question. Why? Because as it has always been homosexual men do not want to talk about anything but "love, flowers, emotions". This is by design and because of that your point is exactly what changes the whole game with them. Show them playing and eating poop and see how fast things change.
I liked that show. I was surprised it was cancelled. I like Gary Sinese and Sela Ward on the show.
