I’ve always LIKED the tomboy look. An athletic girl in jeans and a sweatshirt is a LOT sexier than a concentration camp survivor with silicone breasts hanging from her low cut dress.

"Turns out that Meridas only joining the royal lineup after a corporate makeover thats rendered her skinnier, sexier, and more glamorous than her original spunky, tomboyish self"
We'll be seeing her on a new Weight Watchers commercial soon.

I went and dug around for a few seconds (
merida coronation), and saw the pictures from the ceremony, and while the artistic conception stinks, the actual ceremony (in which they finally brought out her mother as a character) had my favorite cast member playing Merida to the hilt, including riding in to the ceremony upon a war horse, and once she was crowned, she was handed her quiver and her bow.
So it looks like the outrage over the conception artwork is probably just a bit premature. (and I can't wait to ask the cast member what it was like attending the events in Florida.)
I did find it amusing just how many of the royal princess possie was from Disneyland. Though now I'm worried that they might stick her in the Fantasy Land meet and greet; Merida, at least at Disneyland, is set up at a wagon across from It's a Small World, with her brothers hamming it up for every picture.

Not if the cast portraying the character have their way. This is from the coronation ceremony at Walt Disney World.

Only 11 official? What are they?
Snow White
Cinderella
Alice (of Alice in Wonderland (1951))
Sleeping Beauty
The Little Mermaid
Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
Jasmine (Aladdin)
Pocahontas
Mulan
Tinkerbell (several movies plus several cameos)
Princess [Tiana] - Princess and the Frog
Rapunzel (Tangled)
There are a number of others I have not seen, or only vaguely remember the plot — Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians.

I can be entirely FOR a strong female character, and not be taken in by the other malarkey the Left produces. But yes, birds of a feather...

The Lezzies are upset because she lost weight and combed her hair. Hmmm...suppose they would have cheered if she had gained weight and put on a plaid shirt.

Esmeralda, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, is definitely the "hottest".

Probably doesn't count as a Princess, but I was utterly taken with Jane in Disney's Tarzan.

Thanks goodwithagun.
...stripping her, at least in some images, of her trusty bow and arrow, and putting her into the very dress that her character detested in Brave. Its sparked outrage among thousands of mothers for whom Merida offered, finally, an empowering Disney role model for their girls.
Sell Merida in camo and with a gun, long lines at the stores.
