Anecdotal.
12-13 years ago the talk radio station I listen to picked up the Phil Hendrie Show.
I had no idea it was comedy and I recall upon first hearing him being utterly amazed and entertained by the characters calling in and LMAO.
Soon I learned that all the voices were Phil's and with it my appreciation for his comic genius.
I may be incorrect now, but I thought he stopped radio syndication perhaps 8-9 years ago to pursue a TV opportunity.
I then saw that he had returned to radio in my area on a different station and at a far less convenient time and I never caught any of that incarnation.
I hope Phil resurrects again, since I enjoyed his program.

I on a few occassions would also listen to Hendrie’s show years ago and pretty much figured out from the start that the “guests” were Hendrie himself in drag, but what amazed me was the number of callers who called in to talk to his “guests” who apparently didn’t know the difference??! Or were they props in on it too?

Same with me... Always loved the show. I was nearly depressed when he bailed. But when came back after his hiatus into TV, it wasn’t the same. Something was missing. Maybe too much political talk? I don’t know how he could make it work (on a podcast for example), if you have to already know the bit to tune in.
I hope he makes it happen somehow!

Yeah, I don’t need to be confused listening to the radio. The regular media lies to me enough already. He’s good, but in a way I don’t need.
