out-dueling is a bit strong, the Rangers were helped by RIDICULOUS officiating! if there is one team with 6+ powerplays and the other team with ZERO in a game where there is no serious puck domination, there is a problem with the officiating. our announcers were saying post game yesterday that it was UNPRECEDENTED. Caps are #1 on the PP, the refs are making sure they don’t get any. The Caps did not play their best yesterday by any stretch, but the officiating in this series has been breathtakingly lopsided. There was one ref in particular they named who did last Weds game as well as yesterday’s and he turned a blind eye to clear Ranger penalties. it is beyond infuriating. The Rangers barely made the playoffs and they are NOT worldbeaters by any stretch, they have had an incredible amount of help in this series. you will NOT hear that on the MSG network, because both xsboy and xshub were in NY watching at various points and the MSG bias was pretty pronounced. One of the first games there was a goal that was reviewed, xshub texted me while waiting for the review “no goal.” i said well Joe Benanoti and Craig Laughlin disagree, they said it’s a clear goal. He said the announcers up here said NO. Well the review came back and of course it was a goal.
