Media critic Howard Kurtz used his CNN show on Sunday to point a finger at himself, apologizing for a story on gay basketball player Jason Collins that he said was riddled with errors and shouldnt have been written in the first place.
The extraordinary edition of CNNs Reliable Sources contained not only his apology but also a session with two other media critics who sharply questioned Kurtzs credibility.
Kurtz wrote in The Daily Beast that Collins, the NBA center who made headlines last week by being the first active player in one of the four major U.S. pro sports leagues to come out as gay, had hidden a previous engagement to a woman in his announcement. In fact, Collins revealed the engagement in his first-person Sports Illustrated story and in a subsequent interview with ABCs George Stephanopoulos.

The thing is...Collins was a unremarkable player. He was lucky in terms of limited injuries throughout his NBA career, but other than this press talk....there’s nothing about the guy that you’d say for the next forty years.
Somehow being “gay” (and a fraud, ask his GF) makes one a celebrity.
He is likely one of the worst players in the NFL, what did he get, like 6 points all season?
NBA, lol
You cannot be knocking them queers Brother. They are the new untouchables.
What if this guy is just manipulating the media and the left into a massive show of support in order to prolong his career? Who’s to say he is or isn’t?
Becoming a media darling and spokesgay for some organization is possible, but he is still a terrible player for a professional.
After t he Knicks v. Pacer game, it’s hard to tell the difference.
lol
Great.
Thanks to this, the Fact that he was indeed once engaged to a woman will become a Conspiracy Theory.
I don’t think he can prolong his career much longer due to age....
....but hello broadcasting offer.
What a queer set of events!
