“ And when in history was that???

50 years ago, in this country and others, and at other times. Incidents of serious persecution of Christians were few and far between, and certainly not state policy (although Catholics, at various times, have encountered such).

There are women who need to work to support themselves.

There are, but most married women work because their family has become slaves to mammon, materialism, and the family across the street. Two incomes are not necessary to live, only to "keep up".

The Middle East today persecutes Christians by slaughtering them.

It does, and that happens in India as well, but persecution of Christians in the U.S. is occurring primarily at the hands of secularists and militant atheists, sanctioned by a government policy shaped by humanism and liberalism, not another religion (except for isolated major news events).

And I think you are off base blaming Christians for the rise of Hitler, although I realize you generally make good points on many threads.

I believe that the country is past the point of no return, and into the End Times scenario, and this calls for safe shelter of my own family and assets, not heroic trying to "make things right again".

BTW, sorry if you felt singled out or harangued this morning or last night or whenever it was; I quite literally had a reaction to a new medication and this has only settled out in the last couple of hours. Although looking back over my comments, I do sincerely mean the things I said, but perhaps they were too front and center and gave the impression of being targeted at you for some reason (although I was really ranting against contemporary society)..

I am of an age that I know a time when marriage was valued, most women stayed at home and took care of their children. I have made no claim that their should be two income families (I stayed at home and raised my child). After the divorced me, I HAD to go back to work to support myself and my child. I was fortunate to have an education and a career (prior to being a mom) to fall back on.

I know that you think that you can guarantee what life will be like for your children but you cannot. I suspicion that you probably do not have any personal exposure to higher education. You completely ignored my mention of places like Hillsdale College which do a wonderful job of educating and strengthening our young people. And you skipped over the distance learning options offered by many universities.

Christians through out history have always suffered persecution. Just because you lived in an area that seemed somewhat neutral does not change that. Read some Solzhenitzen if you want to see what life in the 20th century was like for Christians (and others) in the Soviet Union.

You lack knowledge of the rise of Hitler in Germany....Christians (and others) had plenty of opportunity to stop his rise. Instead they stood by and turned a blind eye.

And not to worry I did not feel harangued or picked upon. I enjoy a good conversation and discussion. Your points have been heart felt. And the truth is you and I agree on more than what we disagree on.
