“I doubt aliens give a hoot whether Earthlings blow up the planet or not.”

Unless perhaps that they ARE Earthlings coming back in time so we don’t blow the planet up before we can come up with the technology that they are using to escape the Earth. (Before we blow it up with our technology!?)

Semi-serious.

If you look into Tom van Flandern's exploding planet hypothesis, you might find you're closer to the possible than you think! The planet that van Flandern theorizes was the one around which Mars as a moon traveled would have been larger than earth, perhaps as watewry as earth and might well have become habitable and life sprung up tens of thousands of years before earth.

If intelligent, techonologically inclined beings arose on that planet, they may well have been traveling around the solar system, with outposts/bases here and there when their planet flew apart. The explanation of that flying apart would account for several data points regarding Mars, and earth catastrophies.

ET doesn't have to be coming from another star, but there are indications that several species of ETs are visitng this palnet now.
