Resident AmRev historians can put legs on that number.
DHS is buying ammo, but so is everyone else.
About a third were for the Revolution
About a third were Loyalists
About a third were spectators
As I seem to recall.
We may be closer than I have thought. There may not be much more time left.
Some say III percent.
They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it.
Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came.
I think it was actually 3% under arms. I guess depends how you count. (silent supporters providing food, shelter, info, political support, etc,,)
DHS is buying ammo, but so is everyone else.
Success will be dependent upon motivation. DHS may be fooling us, but they sure don’t seem overly motivated.
If SHTF, there will be very little gunfire before its all done.
“Actively involved” or “supportive”? Active, to me, implies armed and fighting. I once read that only 30% of American citizens supported the Revolution.
