The father, in his 60s, had just finished cleaning his gun when his daughter asked him to see the pistol. He emptied the gun of bullets but was unaware one bullet was left in. The girl started playing with the gun then aimed at her father’s head and shot.

Why would the father hand his child a gun without 1) properly clearing the weapon AND 2) first instructing the child on safe gun handling & use? There are several things which could have been done to avoid this tragedy. How sad...
