Colonel.....I fully understand your position.

But what Rush was trying...somewhat unsuccessfully to get across is that Rubio does not understand the amnesty issue as we do, and what Rush did not say is that Rubios perspective seems to be a Hispanic perspective where they generally support amnesty for those who have been here for many years and have established homes and families but they don't like the continuous border jumping.

The issue is that most do not jump the border and have intentionally overstayed visas to remain here expecting someday to get amnesty from some government move....So the reality is that this recent bill is simply Reagan Amnesty II.

Rubio sees it from the perspective of a Hispanic migrant worker and not from the perspective of border sovereignty. So he is naive on the issue yet he says quite clearly that he's not in favor of a general blanket amnesty. So there is a conflict here, because what we know of the bill, it seems that it is....just a different version will all sorts of conditions that will likely be removed after passage.

This too, Rubio seems to be naive about. He does not understand the complete and total mistrust of further amnesty bills after what happened with the last one.

Rush....(and I am not his defender in chief) was purposely trying to avoid the headline...”Limbaugh calls Rubio’s bill another amnesty!” he was trying NOT to get involved in the fray against another conservative regarding a bill he thinks was designed to fail. Anyway....That's how I see it, and generally speaking, I think pretty much exactly as Rush does about everything under the sun....Must be the Midwestern upbringing...

And I yours. So no worries there.

"Rush....(and I am not his defender in chief) was purposely trying to avoid the headline...”Limbaugh calls Rubio’s bill another amnesty!” he was trying NOT to get involved in the fray against another conservative regarding a bill he thinks was designed to fail.

And there's the point. Rush is going out of his way to describe Rubio as this rock-ribbed conservative when he's started what I have read described elsewhere as a 'Category 5 s**tstorm' with the base. I fail to understand how failure to respect the law, and what is undeniably amnesty, now exposed as both for illegals and those who knowingly employ them, is somehow any sort of conservative value.

"Rubio sees it from the perspective of a Hispanic migrant worker and not from the perspective of border sovereignty"

I agree with that too, and it's a good observation. But the way Rubio needs to see it is from the perspective of a United States Senator who is sworn to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Which he is not doing, on this issue.

"But what Rush was trying...somewhat unsuccessfully to get across is that Rubio does not understand the amnesty issue as we do,"

Please pardon my jumping around, but this grabbed my attention too. Given the education on this issue that Rubio seems to be getting from conservatives, if this is true his misunderstanding must now be classified as deliberate. And that is something I cannot abide. Like you, I'm a Midwesterner, but the patience we're legendary for holding is, in my case, just about exhausted. Thanks for your honest views -- greatly appreciated.
