Rush tried TV once before and wasn’t very good at it. He could wipe the floor with any adversary but that’s not his style. When you hear someone on the radio come at him with some idiotic liberal view point, Rush is always very polite and non argumentative. (almost to the point of annoyingly so) A “Point/Counter point” would be best handled by Mark Levin.
I thought Rush did just fine on the TV show.
I heard what he said about not liking the meetings, the makeup, the whole production/collaboration thing, but I think even Rush may underestimate, at least a little, the value of video: sometimes (and for some people) an image or a video clip has more impact than any words can.

His show was actually pretty successful. It was just that so many places stuck it on late at night.
I was only able to watch it during summer vacations when I was a teenager because it was on at around midnight.
Rush’s TV show was wildly successful. Only problem, broadcasters would schedule the show for after midnight in many locations. This made it really difficult for fans of his who had day jobs.
“Rush Rooms” became the rage. In areas where broadcasters were properly driven by the profit motive and wanted the money from commercials, they put Rush on during the day. The result was “Rush Rooms”, where a restaurant would reserve a room specifically for his viewers so they could see Rush’s show. Many restaurants did a blowout business during the day with that promo.
Rush said he quit because of two reasons. The spite of broadcasters and that he preferred radio.
