Off goes Tim Tebow, the player they pursued hard but never really wanted. They shamed him for their own lousy judgment, showing him on Monday just how disgusted they were. Perhaps they are right Tim Tebow might not be an NFL player. At least not a quarterback. But they could have done a lot better than kick him in the face on a day when they should be wiping the mud from their own.

Now that Al Davis is dead the Jets may replace the Raiders as the NFL poster child for boneheaded management.
obviously, their intention was to remove a year of activity from his record, cast doubt on his abilities, and lose a year of development
all in an effort to undermine his career as an NFL QB
he should do a walk-on tryout. he’d almost assuredly get the position and it would totally drive the media nutz.
Tim, please consider tampa :)
I blame Jimmy Sexton for not pushing Teabow harder to take the Jacksonville offer. OTOH, Tim will be fine.
If he gets picked up before he clears waivers then the team that takes him is on the hook for his contract. Once he clears waivers then there may be interest in him if the price is right.
Simpler that that. They wanted to wipe God out of his life.
...thus showing a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes him tick.
Well the Browns keep trying for the title but then they screw it up every once in awhile and do something Right like taking Thomas in the First Round in 2007, or taking Trent Richardson in the First Round last year. But they still manage to constantly screw the pouch on Coach choices and other player choices.
I’ll have to look up what happened. I’m sorry he was mistreated.

Remember when they had Belicheck as their head coach? I'll always wonder how things would have turned out if they had given him a little more time.
Sanchez was pretty thoroughly ruined by the Jets as well but at 4x Tebow’s salary.
“He also had a legion of fans who followed him because of his strong Christian beliefs”

It sounds like he’s pretty popular. The article I read on this mentioned that the Chicago Bears might be interested in him—as someone who grew up in Des Plaines and saw many Bears games—I think that would be awesome.
I admire his strong faith—that will help support him during this trying time for him and his family.
Isn’t he the NFL player who did the Vicks commercial with his little boy? Or perhaps it was a player from the New Orleans team. That was a sweet ad—very loving.
Please excuse my lack of football knowledge. LOL. :)

p.s., I love the link you have to your church. I get Vermont t.v. up here, and try to go to mass regularly. My husband and children were baptized as Catholics; I grew up Presbyterian—and I’m the only one who goes to church! LOL. :)
Yeah I remember, "Metcalf up the middle"... Firing Kosar and Keeping Vinny "Interceptiverde" He had one winning season in Cleveland AND he was fired AFTER the move to Baltimore was announced. His last year hear he went 5 and 11 after starting 3-1 Vinny lived up to his name and literally threw away every game. Bellijoke didn't get a Head coaching job for another 5 years. THEN, he started winning.
Yes, Browns Fans remember Belligoof!
Welcome home ma’am! :)
He is not married I don’t think, but yeah he was persecuted for his faith. The Jets tried to ruin his career and they should be ashamed of themselves
Tebo has eternal life. He doesn’t care if he ever plays football again.
yeah, I dunno, I have eternal life too, I think and I am still miserable. wish I did feel joy like they say, and I have been a longtime Catholic with a 15 year detour to Methodism
Best artical I have read on the subject. The NY Jets organization is a circus, a joke, with management that continues to make the wrong moves almost daily. To them I will say that what goes around comes around. Shameful.
They wanted Tebow so they could demean him for his faith. But they celebrate the gay basketball player.
