Limbaugh: Rubio A "Thoroughbred Conservative"?!?!

I remember in college listening to Rush around dinner back in ‘96 and his loosing it screaming and raving over Buchanan and Keyes was inexplicable. Rush would become unhinged - kinda like McLame bringing up Pat Robertson and evangelical Christians. That along with the 10 point kook test convinced me he knew his role and would maintain it as the appointed conservative gatekeeper. I think at some level he was propositioned and has been rewarded. He’s just keeping up his side of the bargain. It was rumored back then he was ushered into the political elite and the CFR and like groups. He hasn’t unfortunately convinced me otherwise. I can enjoy listening to him for a few minutes but he absolutely knows what’s goin’ on; as do many other prominent conservative talking heads and talk radio personalities. At some point in the near future the accolades and praise these people receive might not be so forthcoming.

Here's something I think should make our current crop of "Conservatives" think.......

Reagan is obviously a man that we all admire...as a Conservative. Yet, he WAS demonstrably, horribly WRONG about amnesty.

The thing that bothers me about Rubio...is he apparently doesn't know history, or realize "doing the same thing over and over again..and expecting different results, is insane"

I wouldn't vote for Rubio in a primary......because of this.

I rarely listen to Hannity....But I will say this...he was maybe the most vocal about warning America in '08 about Obama.

IMO, Rush has done more to educate American's for the last 20 plus years..than any other. Period.

He ain't perfect...neither am I.

Señator Rubio most certainly does support amnesty, which can be applied to anyone forgiven for an offense without paying the appropriate punishment.

That’s the dictionary talking, Rush, not political spin. We defeated another so-called conservative, Pat Toomey, because we insisted that “Shall Not Be Infringed” means exactly what it says. Why should your good friend, Señator Rubio, not be held to the same standard?

Frankly I don't think any one politician is going to satisfy everyone................

One ought view skeptically a definition of conservative that excludes Ronald Reagan.

Reagan was wrong about amnesty ... but he was conservative. I see no appreciable difference with Rubio.

There was no gang of 8 with the Congress that passed the original bill in 1986. Both bodies--the House and the Senate--went through the normal legislative process to pass that bill in 1986. And yes, Reagan signed it into law.

The other difference is that there had never before been an amnesty until 1986. That Act was intended to be the first and the last to grant amnesty.

Potentially, this new amnesty could dwarf in numbers the three million illegal aliens that were granted citizenship with the 1986 law.

Is the border secure yet?
