I don't know about that. A person at my bank told me last year that the police chief told her that there were fake five-dollar bills being circulated in the county.
I went though a McDonald a while ago and handed the girl at the window a $5 bill...she looked at it for about two minutes all different ways before accepting it...
I asked her... seriously...people are counterfeiting $5 bills???
She said all the time...
...and of course they got my order wrong...!
But I wonder whether anyone was actually busted on the spot because o* those 5 dollar bills. Unless they were so amateurishly made, and looked like paper rather than cloth, a 5 dollar bill would never demand instant scrutiny like a 100.
Anyone can put a good crisp bill o* any denomination into even a standard $125 printer and get a stunning looking printout.
