I have extensive experience with Duracells and Ray-o-vac. The french Rayos leak as soon as the charge drops below an output level. The Duracells give no outward indication of charged or not. use the Duracells!

I tested both many moons ago. All three lasted a long time -but they all had the same curve. They suddenly dropped out and died.

That's my experience with them as well. I've discontinued Rayovac purchases and will only use the remaining stockpile in high-consumption situations, where they'll be drained quickly and replaced.

A favorite Gerber flashlight of mine went missing for over a year....when I finally found it again, the Duracells in it had leaked..........so badly in fact, that I couldn't get them out of the battery tube. So I sent it back to Gerber with a letter...and they sent me a new flashlight. Go USA!
