Right on, RIP No Show.
I mean, whooda thunkit? Crazy bastid lived to be 81?
Hank Sr. only made it to 29.
Man, George Jones, that guy could sing. My old daddy loved him and Tammy. See ya around Possum.
oh yeah watch out everbody over in girlene land it is almost ‘hey’ing season when april showers bring mad mower mayhem and ‘HEY’LOOK OUT keystone light is on sale at the 7-11
Yeah, pop singers wearing cowboy hats. R.I.P. Jones. He had #1 hits in five decades, and I remember all of them.
‘That song gave me goosebumps when I first heard it, and it still does.’
Me, too.
George always said he’s lived his songs, and I believe it.
Wonder if that one was about Tammy?
I think you meant "hated". That said, I recall that Sinatra hated "My way" (and for a good reason), didn't anticipate its popularity and only reluctantly performed it live.
If you haven’t cried during “He Stopped Loving Her Today”, you haven’t loved.
Speaking of ‘Hello, Darlin’, when Conway sings
‘Hello, darlin’..nice to see you’, it gives me chills.
Not comparable to George, but one of the greats.
Tammy and George were the best of the best.
I love her ‘Apartment number 9’.
If you havent cried during He Stopped Loving Her Today, you havent loved.

(Captain Obvous: don't bother!)
I have a stack of George Jones records and CDs. I think it was BS that his passing has hardly been mentioned on the Boston bombing obsessed media. Here’s one by the great George Jones that will make a grown man cry. Lord, I loved his singing. RIP Mr. Jones. Now you sing with the angel band and are with your mama in heaven.

Jones’ name was George Glen Jones. He was also a US Marine, Korean War veteran.
Thanks for the spelling lesson, but really, you didn’t have two.
Well, about that infamous lawn mower ride.
Back in the day, my Dad ‘Don Whidden’ was a cop and Detective with the Bartow, FL. PD and later a Sgt. with the Polk County SO.
My Dad is the one that took the call about some guy riding his lawn mower down the highway. When he got there, he just put good ole George in his car and took him home back to Tammy. And then if I remember right, they had the gardener come with a trailer and brought the riding lawn mower back. This is back when George and Tammy had that big place out on Hwy540A (Lakeland Highlands Rd?)
It was the talk of the town in Bartow for some time.
Was mentioned very briefly is his book, but never mentioned that the Officer was Don Whidden, and how cool of a Cop he was about it.
Just thought I would share.
