Damn I bet they really get worked up when a rancher brands his cattle, castrates the males, splits/crops the ears for marking, dehorns, etc.

All of those procedures are done very quickly and for ID purposes only.

We never ‘went artsy’ on any of them.

I thought ranchers only used ear tags to brand their animals. The old fashioned fire-brand must have been terribly painful for the animals.
