Look. I’m not going to fault a mother for crying when she sees her dead, mutilated son. I know, I know — the son is evil and deserved to die. But we have to recognize the humanity of a mother who loves her son. I’m even willing to give her the benefit of the doubt in saying that her son didn’t really do it. She’s a grieving mother. That doesn’t mean we have to agree with what she says or that we can’t condemn the son, but I’m not going to fault her for crying about her son.
We should be faulting the media for allowing her crying to taint the possibly jury pool for her son's trial. Can he get an impartial jury if too many potential jurors are sympathetic with the mother?
