Okay, nothing but guys posting.

Could I remind everyone that Sharapova is the Obama of tennis...

(all show and no substance...no accomplishments...but gets great press anyway).

Yeah...I know what you guys will say...she looks good so who cares.

I think you are confusing her with the other Russian beauty tennis player Anna Kournikova. Sharapova actually won a number of titles.

She’s ranked #2 in the world by the WTA and has 4 Grand Slam wins.

How good does she have to be to have accomplishments in your grading system?

Well, you may have a very narrow definition of "accomplishments", then.

Yes, she's a beautiful young lady. She's also won 28 WTA singles titles, including all four Grand Slam singles titles (Wimbledon, US Open, Australian Open, & French Open -only the sixth woman in the Open Era to complete the career Grand Slam). She's been ranked world #1 in singles on five separate occasions. She's also won an Olympic silver medal.

Not bad accomplishments, if you ask me...:)

You’re thinking of Anna Kournikova—and while Kournikova never won a singles title, she was actually quite an excellent doubles player and won a few Grand Slam doubles titles (mostly with Martina Hingis). Maria Sharapova, on the other hand, did win several Grand Slam singles titles and she’s still ranked #2 in the world in women’s singles...no mean feat at age 26, which is almost “over the hill” in tennis terms.

Sharapova and Kournikova are 2 different people.

Maria has four majors to her name.
