There are music fans, and then there are Bob Seger fans. Evie Branan had been in a coma for five years and when she emerged, the first words out of her mouth were, I want to go to a Bob Seger concert.
Why would I say that? Branan laughed later when recounting the story to her hometown paper, the Flint Journal, in Michigan. Maybe my last thoughts were Bob Seger before I had my stroke. While Branan may have been unsure about why she wanted to see Bob Seger in concert so badly, she was certainly a fan of the Night Moves singer. Branan had seen five Seger concerts before her coma, which she fell into after suffering a massive stroke in 2007. She was in a care center for years, unable to speak, until she regained consciousness in May 2011 and announced her desire to see a Seger show. Last Thursday, the 79-year-old woman got the chance to see Seger in concert again.

According to witnesses the woman asked if the opening act of the Bob Seger show is going to be Johnny Cougar or Milli Vanilli.
Bonds' downfall was his alcoholism not his criticism of Coleman Young. On many occasions he did the news while drunk and on others, he never showed up.
In fact, WXYZ showed him more tolerance than any other employer would have.........
Bob’s a really good guy. I know several members of the band, though I never met Bob, which is why I know this story was the result of a marriage dispute. As a matter of fact I will be with Alto & some of the band soon after one of Seger’s shows in the next several weeks.
If she wanted to see Yanni, I would have recommended euthanasia.
Or Kenny G.
(I like Seger, but I don't revere him - I just don't like libel. FR often comes up in Google searches, so a story started here can spread.)
Yup. Who would do that for a stage name anyways?
If a relative of mine woke up from a coma and demanded to go to a concert by Barry Manilow, Kenny G, Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple or Pink Floyd, I’d knock him or her in the head back into the coma. Oh, but wait, to demand to see any of these acts in the first place, one must be in a coma anyway!
At least no one had to break the bad news to her about Whitney Houston and Donna Summers.
Or the really tragic news that she shouldn’t expect any new smash hits from the Philles or Spector record labels.
Very cool. Glad to hear it.
