Family ripped from their home at gunpoint; Police storm the property looking for terrorists
Live Leak ^ | April 20, 2013 | Staff

Friday, April 19, 2013, during a manhunt for a bombing suspect, police and federal agents spent the day storming people's homes and performing illegal searches. While it was unclear initially if the home searches were voluntary, it is now crystal clear that they were absolutely NOT voluntary. Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform their illegal searches.

This was part of a larger operation that involved total lockdown of the suburban neighbor to Boston. Roads were barricaded and vehicle traffic was prohibited. A No-Fly Zone was declared over the town. People were "ordered" to stay indoors. Businesses were told not to open. National Guard soldiers helped with the lockdown, and were photographed checking IDs of pedestrians on the streets. All the while, police were performing these disgusting house-to-house searches.

We are all missing the irony in this situation.

We, mostly non residents of Boston, MA, are criticizing the way the cops treated the residents of MA.

When in fact, the sheep in MA voted for the government they have.

What have they got? A mayor who is dumber than a mud boat.

A governor who is so liberal....there are no words to describe him.

The voters have allowed said government to make the ownership of arms very difficult.

Now they have to rely on cops who can’t shoot straight, who put guns in the faces of little old ladies and children...

And we are wasting our time defending the sheep?

The hell with them. They got the government they deserve.

Will other departments in other states try the same stunt? Probably, but just think....there is another lesson in that event.

If two guys can put the entire PD of a major city into panic, what do you think will happen in a red state where there are thousands of people for every cop?

The cops in those states know this and they will not be nearly so anxious to try the Boston model.

And most of them are decent people who don’t want to try.

But bottom line: MA voters deserve what they have for government and law enforcement.

Don’t give them another thought. Instead concentrate on preventing that kind of government in your/our state.

Law Enforcement does not need warrants?

When did we shred the Constitution?

They may have been testing but this was wake up call to Americans. Most I talk to are very unhappy with how things went down last Friday. Most take it as over reaching government who is now a threat.

America is waking up from her slumber.

If ONE civilian had a gun pointed at them by the cops, then the cops were out of line. And from the videos, it looks like this happened REPEATEDLY.

These "exigent circumstances" you love to rely on are going to be interpreted more and more broadly by the police.

Will there ever be a point at which you will agree that the police have gone too far?

Or will you continue to rationalize such Tyranny on the basis of it being "settled law?"

From a Massachusetts friend of mine last night:

Some people just don’t know when to stop....
Those who have chosen to create hype and hysteria about how the Police and other law enforcement did their work following the Boston Bombings- you need to chill. Sure it might get lots of likes and shares on your facebook profile or page if you can make it seem like Watertown Massachusetts became like Nazi Germany for a day, but the sad reality is that most of the people painting that picture are not from here and were likely not affected by the bombings in any way beyond the fact that the nightly news interrupted their favorite stupid TV show.

To the folks feeding this monster, please stop, you are only poisoning the well. If you have a hatred for police and military- just say so and be done with it. But don’t dishonor my friends who were on the scene when the bombs went off. Don’t dishonor my friend who first served his country and then served the good people of Boston by helping secure the scene and find the perpetrators.

Nobody’s home was searched for Bibles or guns or their stash of pot and pills. The police went door to door trying to find a terrorist that very well could have had a family at gunpoint or been strapped with explosives. Nobody was rounded up and caged by the socialist dictator. People were asked to lock their doors, and when police showed up- they were asked to exit the home slowly with their hands up- so they would know who and what was coming out the door. They then searched some homes to make sure the killer was not inside- and they moved on. Re-read this paragraph again if you’re going to cry “illegal search and seizure” Law enforcement knew that the second man responsible was within a 20 mile zone and they shut the place down to find him and bring swift justice to the fugitive who not only took part in the bombing, but was involved with two shooting of officers, one of which included homemade grenades and small IED’s. The place was a war zone and they were determined not to let this man escape and end up in a cave somewhere across the world, evading justice.

Those who are plagued with a sickness that convinces them that EVERY tragedy that happens ANYWHERE to ANYONE is some sort of evil government plot- I pity you. Even those of us who are not blind to government corruption and global agenda’s think you need to try decaff once in awhile. Must be tough to think your own shadow is out to get you. But don’t dishonor my friends with your nonsense. Don’t sit there on your facebook page 1000 or 2000 miles away from Boston and make this about you and your rights and how you would have done things so much differently- or just say off-the-wall things to stir-up mistrust and anger. Watertown CHEERED law enforcement when it was all over- they didn’t protest and call the ACLU because the police looked inside their home for a Killer.
Had any of them said “come back with a warrant” just for the sake of being confrontational- they would have dramatically slowed down what was a Just and Reasonable systematic search for ONE thing- a Killer.

So that’s that. People that want to engage in that type of rhetoric and slander of my friends and how they did their job- when it had nothing to do with you- you’re on notice. I’ll unlike your fancy pages and encourage my friends to do the same. You’re making this personal.

Hats off to Federal, State, and Local Officials that responded professionally, and brought a fugitive to justice less than 5 days after a terrorist attack. Boston Strong.

But I don't think the cops or the media or the government are going to sit down, talk about what they did wrong, what they did right, and learn any lessons from any of it.

Why should they? The townsfolk shed "patriotic tears" at the mere sight of the Jackboots according to EV.

*The patriotic tears line by EV sounds exactly like something straight from the North Korean government.*

It took at least three tries to pass the bar - assuming he actually sat for the exam, not a stand-in, or actually a sit-in.

Refer back to my post earlier in this thread. THERE WAS NO REASON TO SEARCH CITIZEN’S HOMES! The guy was bleeding and on foot. A tracking dog could have located him in minutes.

Well said.

I don’t have an opinion on this instance given the lack of information, but my points are generally relevant.

Regarding militarization, the idea of excellence has been traded for capacity at the expense of liberty. The notion of the classic detective, armed, ready, and intelligent is no longer a perceived reality — the remedy today is seemingly tactical, apathetic force.

I’m concerned about the policies that facilitate abuse, not necessarily the individual officer that we at times suspect is indifferent to Constitutional law. The latter can be prosecuted but not if sanctioned by the former.

"And the law is well-established that if lives are immediately threatened warrants are not needed either."

The only exemption to allow a unwarranted search would be the "hot/fresh pursuit"/exigent circumstances exemption. Even then LEOs would need PC in the form of identifying the perp and actually witnessing the perp going into a structure.

Most people had probably had no problem consenting, which is not surprising coming from a modern enclave that supports limited government and has eternal vigilance to distrust a necessary evil, lol.

The Statist have glee in their eyes over the citizens compliance. Now they will push to shrink the 4th Amendment and expand the provisions of what warrants PC even more.

BTW, I have read some stories, not sure if true, that some denied searches of their homes and the LEOs complied.

Those folks wearing the uniforms work for us. They are us. And they were simply fulfilling the first duty of all government, which is to protect the lives of We the People.

By shoving guns in the faces of American civilians, forcing out of their own homes at gunpoint and ransacking their houses to hunt for suspects?????

That's not 'protecting and serving' pal. That's raw, in-our-face tyranny under the guise of public safety. Every despotic regime in the last 100 years has done the same damn thing and for the same stated reasons.

This is conditioning. This isn't keeping us safe from an enemy that this very same government insists is NOT a threat to us.

Those who allegedly "work for us" and their media propagandists have already lectured and preached to the simple minded who the 'real' enemy is: Conservative White Christian Americans who love the Constitution. Otherwise known as Bitter Clingers

You know, the kind you see being forced out of their homes with a hundred guns sighted at their heads while the media prays that the terrorists are white Americans.

No one was 'protected' by this incident except the State and those wearing the uniform to protect the state.

Had ANY ONE civilian dared to stand his ground in his own home, he would have been shot and killed by those acting like Gestapo agents whom you say were 'protecting We The People'. That is self-evident in the videos of what went down in Watertown.

"Protecting We The People'. That's not what I see in those videos. That's not what I hear from the Statists in government. That's not what I hear and read from those who you assume 'work for us'.

You know, the ones. The one's who tell us 'we don't need to possess an assault weapon'; 'we must be willing to trade liberty for security'.

The ones who order billions of hollow point rounds and thousands of tanks and assault rifles - and then refuse to say what they are for while letting the beans slip that using drones to kill American citizens on US soil is permissible.

I am anti government doing what it ought not. But I am pro government doing what it ought. That's why I stand with the people of Watertown, Massachusetts in applauding law enforcement for successfully defending innocent human life and restoring the security they need to live peacefully in their community.

Show us a single warrant issued for search of a home in this incident.
Show us one homeowner who said “no” to a search and wasn’t threatened with deadly force as persuasion.

That's called "majority tyranny." What should the other 35-40% of people in MA do, move to another state? Just wondering...
