Many years ago, I drank bourbon.

Southern Comfort, specifically.

And then, one night, I was in a roadhouse, really ripped on it and a biker who looked like Sam Elliot casually remarked that bourbon tastes like cough syrup.

I never drank it again.

Southern Comfort is some New Orleans bartender's idea of what a whiskey-flavored liqueur should taste like. It has more in common with Rock & Rye than with bourbon.
