Well we got some from this guy who has a small distillery in Al. It was so sweet I could not drink it. Don’t make it too sweet.

Don’t smoke while you’re experimenting.

Google Dave’s apple pie moonshine. I used that recipe over the holidays. Very good.

Is this apple pie with moonshine dumped on it or moonshine steeped with apple pie?

First you start with a bushel of corn.
Then a little wheat and little rye, add in some yeast and water. Stir well and wait a few days, then start cooking. When finished, it should end up about 90 proof. Then age to taste and sip away. I don't know anything about this ‘everclear stuff and apple pie is for eating.

IMHO forget making your own. If you want a superior apple whiskey look for Leopold Brothers New York Apple Whiskey. It’s made by a micro-distillery in Denver and is amazing. There are also apple pie flavored moonshine products available legally in some states.

Welcome to the felony ping!

I would suggest you abandon you felonious ways, as you have no talent for them.

Producing hard liqour in any volume, except as fuel, is quite illegal, and discussing it online is foolish.

As though the ATF doesn’t monitor this site enough.

I wonder what the administrator’s policy is on becoming a how do site for illegal activities?

only cut your “moonshine” 50% max. Use good cinnamon sticks. Let it set for at least a month.

I would suggest;

Add apple slices to a boiled concoction of cinnamon and nutmeg and apple juice. Let the solids settle out in the frige for a few hours and transfer the clear liquid to your Everclear. Add sugar if you like it sweet.

If you use quart jars, add additional apple slices for visual effect.

Try to keep the ABV in the 90 proof zone, it will make a tastier brew.

Cheers

The secret to good apple pie is letting it sit after you mix it. One month minimum. You aren’t making a mix drink you are creating.

Good stuff! My Tennessee contacts have shared. I don’t know the exact “recipe” but I do know they use apple juice and a couple of sticks of cinnamon.

Good luck with your quest
