It's been a wild week...just wondering, what's been in your steady rotation to help smooth out the rough edges?
Here's my list for the last few days:
Moby Grape/ '69
Sun Ra/ Supersonic Jazz
Haydn/ Symphony No. 98
From speed metal to bubblegum pop... who cares, weigh in!
Living room CD player -- Luna Rendezvous
Car 1 cassette player -- Emmylou Harris Luxury Liner
Car 2 CD player -- Michael Jackson Number Ones
The Association - Greatest Hits!
with Windy in heavy rotation
If I listen to music it is classical.
I can not tolerate acid/hard rock.
I do want to promote a great web site for listening to ANY radio station/program.
www.dar.fm
Since I am 12 hours from US time, it is great for me to be able to play back Savage, Rush, and others.
You can record one program for free, or you can subscribe to get many.
The program is on their server, so your computer does not have to be on to have it recorded for you.
It just so happens the bar up the street has a band outside in the parking lot today. Sounds pretty good from here. The wind is whipping around so sometimes its loud and sometimes you can’t hear very good.
Have you seen the Luna documentary “Tell Me Do You Miss Me?”
It’s excellent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fIdy1UYVR8
I’ve seen them live at least ten times, and I would say a late November snowstorm Lupo’s Luna show in Providence [with my future wife] pretty much cemented my marriage back in ‘95.
This Carulli Polonaise always makes me happy:

And this Schubert calms me:

And Bessie Smith is the queen!

Schubert... aaahhh.
I thought it was “Aaaaah Bach.”
PINK FLOYD, Coming back to Life.
Right now I am watching Springsteen and E Street live in NYC...playing on Palladia.
I’m interested in what you’ve been listening to this week. Your musical knowledge is wide.
Happy Days reference
MASH, no?
“Who by Fire?”——Leonard Cohen
I’m listening to people axing me: “What are you listening to?”
I think it was the scene where Fonzi is dating a sophisticated chick and Richie is coaching him on cultural issues.
