It's been a wild week...just wondering, what's been in your steady rotation to help smooth out the rough edges?
Here's my list for the last few days:
Moby Grape/ '69
Sun Ra/ Supersonic Jazz
Haydn/ Symphony No. 98
From speed metal to bubblegum pop... who cares, weigh in!
“Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Lynyrd Skynard, The Allman Bros., The Who, Pink Floyd...”
Swap out Lynyrd, add The Cars, Moody Blues and the Doors and you have about half of my iPod.
There’s some newer stuff on there as well; Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, STP...but like you, I am a Classic Rock guy.
“Aase’s Death”

Dreamy, shifting, Sun Ra:
My business partner in the 80’s was a wild sax player. He had me listening to all this weird stuff.
It took me a couple years to appreciate just how good he was.
He opened once for Anthony Braxton who said “never put this guy on stage before me again.”

I did like the Unity Band concert, even though the bassist wore an Obama T-Shirt.
“Thank you for the Schubert... I need that tonight!”
Yes...I must have listened to it about six times today myself...
Itzhak Perlman - Theme from Far and Away
Sorry. It’s “Ain’t Much Left of Me”
Nice! check out post 126.....The Smoke rocks!
Very nice. I’m going to give Drive By Truckers a closer look. Scary how we think alike. I saw Blackberry Smoke recently as well.
I’m surprised that the Muse song “Uprising” wasn’t somewhere on this list. It’s a favorite among Tea Partiers, OWS types, and the Molon Labe crowd. Is that cool or what? A loud, rabble-rousing song with catchy revolutionary lyrics. I like it a lot.
Of course you’re welcome.
I appreciate the overall candor of your forum posts... you’re a right-on FReeper.
I’m listening to The Notorious Cherry Bombs sing “It’s hard to kiss the lips at night”.
