The TIME 100 list of the most influential people in the world has been released, and typically, there are no Canadians.
Toronto writer Sheila Heti, author of the sexy, musing semi-autobiographical novel How Should a Person Be? How Should a Person Be? was Canadas great hope, having made the short list of nominees. But when the Time editors sat down to determine which figures hold sway over (mostly American) political, social and cultural spheres, Heti was shorn from the list.
Canadians Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney, and Justin Bieber made the list in 2010 and 2011 respectively. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the widely-referenced list. To celebrate, the magazine has rolled out seven separate editions for the list, each bearing the image of one of the more notable influential figures from the 2013 group. This includes the godfather of hip hop Jay-Z, U.S. Senator Rand Paul, Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, Indian movie star Aamir Khan, Pakistani schoolgirl and education activist Malala Yousafzai, SpaceX founder entrepreneur Elon Musk and Chinese tennis star Li Na.
most useless list I have ever seen....no wonder we are headed to hell in a hand basket
and Jennifer Lawrence and Christina Aquilera and Mooch and BO....please you cherry pick the four or five decent names and ignore the other 90 or so
Time is still a magazine? Who would have known.
Thanks, I’ll take a look.
I must be getting really old and out of touch - I don’t recognize 3/4 of those people.

“I dont think anyone is influenced by Justin Beeber” I AM, he “influences” me to want to KICK HIS CANDY A$$!
