Oblivion is a spectacular science fiction movie... until it isnt.
Writer-director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) has created a post-apocalyptic world so rich in detail and gorgeous design, that from the get-go its easy to assume this film will become a sci-fi classic. But as Oblivion crosses the threshold from the unknown to the all-too-obvious, the Tom Cruise alien adventure falls into familiar territory.

Who is Tom Cruise?
ping
enough already.
Oblivion,,,,is that a movie about Obama?
Not sure. Could be the guy who used to be married to Nicole Kidman.
Are you a fan?
I gotta agree that it does look good despite Cruise.
I watched the first episode of “Defiance” the other night. Its got possibilities but I’m really hoping it gets better. I was kinda bothered that they didn’t spend the first show on explaining the war and how it created the world it did.
I don’t care what you people say. I like sci fi, and I have rarely seen a Tom Cruise movie I didn’t like.
I intend to see this.... should be fun.
Is this another Glowbull Warming movie?
Regardless, I’m tired of Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman.
Maybe these idiots can convince others to see their movies, I just don’t care anymore.
Then why did you comment if you don’t care?
The trailers look good, I don’t go to movies very often but will for this one. Tom Cruise is a pretty good actor IMO, don’t care about the scientology cult, just can’t stand Morgan Freeman.
Strange how things work...I’ve only seen one Tom Cruise film I DID like: Collateral. The rest were so much dreck to me. But I’m glad we don’t see eye-to-eye...it gives us things to talk about! LOL!
That was always my complaint with Michael Crichton’s sci fi books, especially the ones converted to movies - too many times he just didn’t know how to end the story— Predictability is really hard to avoid these days, n’est ce pas? But, if 90% is good, then I will forgive a lame ending. 50%, not so much.
Night and network for Defiance?
Mondays on SYFY at 9/8 central.
Seven races living together on a terraformed earth.
Yea, right.
We just wait for it on blue ray and rent from the library nowadays.
