I love period pieces and the attention to detail here makes the movie fun - the cars, the clothes, the stuff you find in hotel rooms, locker rooms, offices. I have a pretty strong sense that they didn’t get the lingo of the day right - several times they used words or phrases that I don’t think would have been in use back then - that would have made it even better IMHO.
yes, so do i! i soon as i saw the trailer, i knew i would pay to see this movie... and i also love sports, baseball in particular... and professional sports at that... that people take the sport so seriously as to make a living from it--in many forms... from the players to the managers, scouts, agents, refs, owners, etc... i find it intriguing...
one of my all-time favorite movies is Cinderella Man--another period piece with two of my favorite actors--Russell Crowe and Paul Giamatti, whose father was the commissioner of MLB...
