In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
machinate \MAK-uh-neyt\ , verb
to contrive or plot, especially artfully or with evil purpose: to machinate the overthrow of the government.
Example sentences:
...his malevolent memory would machinate on [it], until the day the darkness he so passionately believed in but just as passionately tried to avoid finally descended.
--Warning, 2010
You do not think I am intelligent enough to scheme? Then I haven't the wits necessary to machinate?
-- Connie Brockway, So Enchanting, 2009
Etymology:
Machinate entered English from the Latin machina in the first half of the fifteenth century.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

The Obama years: just watch him machinate
I pray that our side will be back in eight
That in twenty-sixteen
We can wipe the slate clean
And let patriotism rejuvenate

A+ for you but why are you making us wait another 8 years?? A total of 8 Obama years. I realized the potential for confusion and said 2016. Unfortunately, "back in four" doesn't rhyme with machinate. Neither does "back in one."

Obama and his minions machinate to hide the real news of how few Americans really have jobs. The good news here is that is all anyone is talking about now that we can get out and enjoy the early signs of spring. My democrat neighbors are the most riled up. I tried to tell them last year, but did they listen? NO.
