We assume they are friends, and indeed, China prefers an annoying, but very weak Kim on their border, vs. a united Korea that is friendly with the US and Japan - but there is probably a lot of underlying tension between China and N. Korea. We will never see it because communist countries don’t air their dirty laundry in public.

OK, I remember that now. My dad worked at Hanford starting in 1945 and Los Alamos prior to that. Hanford, of course, was involved in production of the Nagasaki plutonium material.
