Thank you!
My posts speak for themselves .. as do yours, sadly
You’ve told us how you can’t do it. Now tell us how you can do it.
Yes sadly this thread has become a study in how to email higher ups in the organization to complain about people who won't hand over their personal paid for stuff to a woman who decided she "needs" it because she can't possible find a way to pay for it herself.
You’re welcome to the last word ma’am, as this heretic can’t hope to compete with such an impressive display of ‘christian’ charity.
Oh give me a break with the melodrama...this is a simple case of taking care of family business. If you can't afford an activity you explain to your kid that you don't have the money and they are free to raise the money themselves with parental help. I would suggest you read "The Tragedy of American Compassion" by Olasky to get some insight into why American conservatives have forsaken the role of true Biblical charity and replaced it with a socialist model.
Good pick-up on the list probably relating to a summer camp list rather than a weekend. I agree about getting it clarified with another source.
On the note about my handle, we exchanged FReepmail on the subject back in 2006 so I know about yours being related to the former AF training center, now a school of international business in PHX. As a reminder, mine is related to the 45th Infantry Division, the Oklahoma National Guard unit with significant WW2 & Korean War history.
FR is a place where like minded folks come together. in a neighborly fashion. When one of us hurts, we all hurt. When one of us cries, we all cry. When one of us needs prayers, we all pray. When someone's pet needs help, others offer helpful suggestions. When someone's hibiscus has yellow spots, others offer helpful suggestions. I wonder what is kind, neighborly or helpful to trussell by your posts.
I don't happen to give a squat about what *your* opinion is about what an author's *opinion* is about charity. In the spirit of this site, and compassion of the Christian faith, I urge you to climb down from your high horse, as you are sounding very pretentious and self-righteous; and close to hypocritical of your proclaimed faith.
Even your beloved Olasky warns, that partial re-adoption of the seven marks of compassion will be dangerous if unaccompanied by *a spiritual revival that transforms the everyday advice people give and receive, and the way we lead our lives*.
If you think life delivers nice little tribulations to be overcome in nice easy formulas, then I pray you do not ever become disabled and your children never have to go without.
In the neighborly spirit of this site, I hope you can get off your high horse without hurting yourself.
trussell I commend you for encouraging your son to follow the path of Scouting. Bless you for your efforts in his behalf. He’s got a great mom! Be strong. Good will come to you.

Well, I have two sleeping bags in storage I’ve never once used and would be more than happy to donate one to you, but the shipping cost would be as pricey, if not more so than the sleeping bags you might locate locally at army surplus, or the sometimes dicey Craigslist source, to MN very possibly. Let me know if you’d like me to ship one to you for your son.
We are actually in Georgia at this time, though still claim MN as my home flag.
If the cost of shipping would be so high, I wouldn’t want to burden you with that cost. Thank you so much for the offer and if you find shipping to not be a burden, Cody would be happy to accept one of your bags.
I have listed an ad on the local CL...but so far, no replies.
It’s not my place to say so, but you have chosen to be judgemental to me so I will take this opportunity to say...
...I don’t think you would know true Christian faith, love, understanding, forgiving etc...if it bit you on your hind end. Thank you for bringing such discourse to my thread...all I am asking is “if you were/are a scout, and you have some old uniforms in this size, please consider passing them on to a new scout”
I don’t have those numbers yet, but I will see if I can get them today from one of the other parents.
...and thank you for pinging sandrat! I appreciate the help.
When they encouraged him to join he told them that his mom was unemployed and recovering from back surgery. They said "If money is the issue, don't let it be...we have ways around money issues". I'm pleased they want him in the troop...just want him to be able to enjoy the fun part of boy scouts, not just the work part...which as I've already said, he has participated in every sales event they have done since he started.
Thank you both for your service...my family appreciates you and yours for having served to protect our freedom!!!
Thank you Daffy...you are truly a precious FRiend.
