I would head north. Beaver Island in Lake Michigan would be good. Small enough population to clear of walkers in short order. Presuming the walkers freeze up during the winter you could still hunt for food during the winter on the mainland.
That's one of those "if I don't make it..." scenes.
As evidenced in the first picture of the spoiler thread, Rick and his warriors seem to be high tailing out a back entrance somewhere after possibly entrapping the gov and his crew inside the prison with the walkers.
I suspect the others of the group are already on the road, heading to parts unknown......
Are they at the prison or at Woodbury? I don’t remember a lot of graffiti at the prison.
Actually, if you look closely at the first picture, they are in front of a boxcar sitting on RR tracks - makes me think that while the Gov is at the prison, Rick's group is making an assault on Woodbury.

But why would the clan launch an assault on Woodbbury if the gov and his men are all at the prison? What is there to gain by such an attack on the city?
Right now, they're in a defensive mode, trying to fight off an attack by the gov..........there's nothing to be gained at Woodbury
