No doubt Dobermans are a stellar and majestic breed of dog, I've known a couple, and I've considered getting one. Currently I have mutts but won't rule out a Dobie or another king of dog breeds, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
I currently have a black and tan Dobie, and three red nosed pits. Majestic is a very good description for a doberman, and they are probably one of the most intelligent dogs there is.
Pit bull type dogs need to be handled with a bit of caution, especially if, like me, you have a pack. But they do their jobs very well, of protecting my wife and our stuff, out in a very rural area.

True enough, they are not for many and it's best that way. And they sure don't cotton to being other than pack leader very readily. I used to never lock my doors with my red nosed Staffy on patrol. I don't do that anymore with the mutts most occupied with stalking stuffed animals and outpositoning the other fer first dibs on meals and treats.
