I know I will be flamed on this. But assuming she was conscious of her surroundings (which there is ample evidence she was not), I could think of absolutely no worse Torture with a capital T that can be inflicted upon another human being, than to be permanently stuck in a bed, unable to communicate, unable to feed oneself, clean oneself, be able to go walking on a warm summer day, go have an ice cream, travel, play with the kids, unable to do one single thing we take for granted every single day of our lives. The inability to communicate alone would within a couple weeks alone would have frustrated me far beyond the threshold of insanity. Imagine yourself in this prison (a prison far worse than prison itself, where at least you can communicate, move, feed yourself, and clean yourself), day after day, month after month, year after year. Unable to work, or create, or add to the human experience in any way. Hell you can’t even put whatever TV show you want on.

I would be forever angry and condemn any member of my family to hell for forcing me to live through that. Not to mention the hell and turmoil, and financial hardships my family would go through for decades. Just shoot me between the eyes, be done with it, then the family could move on, and remember me for what I was instead of an inanimate object wasting away in a bed for decades.

It is far greater act of compassion, to end absolute unendurable torture like that, assuming the person is conscious of their surroundings.

Flame away

Not to mention, there is no way of knowing whether they are in continuous excruciating pain, as they have no way of telling you.

If Terri had put all this in writing before she got ill I personally would not be harping on this subject right now. I still would not like it any better but at least I would know it was her decision. You will NEVER convince me that this was her decision for only one reason and that is she did not make a living will. Her family offered to care for her the rest of her life and take her off her husband’s hands. Therefor I see what her husband did is pure and simple murder.

Terri Schindler was killed through starvation and dehydration. This is one of the most painful and unpleasant ways to die. At Auschwitz, the Nazis killed inmates in this manner to deter escapes. Is it an act of compassion to kill a conscious person in this way?

here is the answer: you would want to die in that situation, Terri didn’t want to die. Someone forced her death.

I agree with you. I can't imagine a worse "life." Not one I would want to endure...or would want to put family through. There are a lot of things worse than death.

It's easy to have strong opinions about things that have no affect on ones own life.

You’re right.

Plus, a marriage certificate means something.

To change legalities, we would have to void the marriage contract and let big government take over that roll.

It does the same damage to marriage as homosexual marriage does.

You’re confusing compassion with pity. Spend some time getting to know people with serious disabilities, and then you can develop true compassion. If you knew them, you wouldn’t be so quick to judge their lives unworthy.

When they asked her if she wanted to live and she screamed, that would kind of destroy your incorrect set of facts that she was unconscious.

Everybody who was in her room when she screamed was ejected and the police guard said "it never happened." Florida's been a police state for a very long time. The police at hospice to make sure Terri was murdered got paid a lot of money to make she she'd be tortured to death and they also emotionally abused Terri's parents and siblings.

It sounds like you are looking forward to being an inanimate object.

Terri was MURDERED. Terri did actually like ICE CREAM. Terri didn't need that feeding tube either but Michael STOPPED ALL OF TERRI'S THERAPY which was helping her learn how to use the muscles she needed to eat like regular folks. Terri was learning to speak again and how to eat.

LIES, LIES, LIES. People will always be telling their folklore about Terri.

You stop someone's therapy that is working and see what happens. See what happens, yet she WAS STILL ALERT AND AWARE.
