These women aren’t “empowered” enough to refuse the sexual act that leads to the unplanned pregnancy. The horse left the barn a long time ago.

Why do so many of them (despite sex education in the public schools) seem incapable of seeing the link between the sexual act and conception? What is behind the refusal to use contraception — does the male partner object to it, and if so, is it because he subconsciously wants her to conceive (though he might not want to support the resulting baby)?

After how many “dates” does one partner (or maybe both) expect to engage in full, unprotected sexual intercourse?
