My question is: if what the op (original poster) posits is true, that the existence of this musical means that it is easy to lampoon God because Mormons are "counterfeiters," then what does the existence of "Piss Christ" and Jesus Christ Superstar prove about Christians? [1rudeboy]

The Mormons were lampooning the God of the Christian Bible 180 years before the musical the bom and before the “art forms” you mention... [TN]

Precisely.

Christians haven't extended invitations to "artsy" types to feature urine, whether or not it has anything to do with them degrading Christ.

Mormons, on the other hand, "made it big" in 2011 on Broadway...in part, via their open invitation to others via their vast missionary enterprise to regard what they believe about getting their own planets...

Here are lyrics from the "I Believe" song from the Book of Mormon musical...what I regard as both the heart of the song AND the musical:

I believe-
That God has a plan for all of us.
I believe-
That plan involves
Me getting my own planet.

Tell us, Rudeboy, what do you think about this premise that if you...
...become a temple Mormon...
...get married, if not already...
...get your temple recommend from your Lds bishop...
...obey ALL of the extra Mormon commandments & covenants & ordinances & rituals...
...tithe 10%...
...and wear your magic underwear for protection...
...you can become your own god of your own planet???

I understand the assertion that Mormon missionaries “invite” this sort of a thing. Thank God Christians don’t have missionaries.
